The Open for Art festival is now open and will continue until 2nd June in many venues in South Dorset. Local studios will be exhibiting a wide range of art created by talented local artists and many of those venues are in Poundbury.
Pengillys, Solicitors who have offices in Weymouth and Poundbury supported the exhibition created by students of Damers First School. The book Harmony: A New Way of Looking at Our World has inspired the exhibition the book was written in 2010 by HRH thePrince of Wales with Tony Juniper and Ian Skelly.
Matthew Rimmer, Principal at Pengillys said “We have been overwhelmed with the skill and creativity that the children have shown in their artwork. It was a pleasure for me and colleagues from Pengillys to thank the children by awarding book tokens to them today.”
Edd Moore, Year 3 Teacher and Eco Coordinator at Damers First School said “Damers First School staff and children really appreciate the support of Pengillys in helping to fund art resources for the whole school and Des Alner a specialist ceramic artist to work with the children in Year 3 to make Islamic tiles. Damers First School has been focusing on the Harmony Curriculum based on HRH Prince Charles’ book, “A New Way of Looking at our World. The exhibition will continue until 2nd June at the Dorset Creative Arts Centre.”
The exhibition opened on Friday 17th May 2019, students, parents, teachers and governors were invited to the event .
