Weymouth businesswoman in running for award

AMONG three local business women who are vying for a Langtry Manor Venus Business Women Award is Julie Cleaver of Weymouth.

The small business owner, who runs a marketing firm from her home in Chickerell, has been nominated in the home-based business category.

She said: “I am delighted to have got through to the finalist stage in the Venus Women’s Awards in the Home-Based Business award.

“There were so many nominations for this category that I didn’t think I stood a chance but after meeting the lovely ladies from Basepoint I was crossing my fingers and toes that I would be selected.

“Working from home requires a lot of discipline and dedication as there are lots of distractions, but I think that the benefits far outweigh the negatives.

“My husband Mick and I run three companies from our home-based office in West Dorset and provide employment for 10 people, our home is our business hub and it works well for us.”

See popcornmarketing.co.uk and extramile.co.uk for details. The award ceremony will be held at the Pavilion Theatre, Bournemouth on June 5th.
