Dick Whittington is brought to you by Made-to-MeasureProductions, returning for its fifth Pantomime at Weymouth Pavilion after thehuge success of 2017’s Christmas production of SLEEPING BEAUTY which wasnominated for BEST PANTO earlier this year at the Great British PantomimeAwards. Dick Whittington will open onSaturday 15th December and continue until 5th January2019.

The is the first time in many years that Dick Whittington has been performed at Weymouth Pavilion and I have enjoyed creating a fun filled pantomime which brings a new twist to a traditional pantomime story. Dick Whittington’s cat has a starring role and promises to steal a few hearts along the way”.
The rags-to-riches story tells the tale of a boy from Weymouth who travels all the way to London to make is fortune, believing that the streets there are paved with gold! In actual fact, the streets are covered in rats – there’s an infestation of rodents throughout the city and it’ll be up to Dick and his funny feline friend to save the day and overthrow the Mistress of Misery…the Duchess of the Drains… the almighty villain – Queen Rat!
Back by popular demand for his fourth Christmas season, GWYNFRYN WEST stars as IDLE JACK!
CHAY ANTONI plays Sarah the Cook in the panto. Chay has worked all over the world in various hotels, holiday parks and cruise ships, he is very excited to be returning to Weymouth Pavilion after appearing as King Raymond in last year’s production of Sleeping Beauty.
This year’s show also sees the return of YVONNE PATTERSON as QUEEN RAT, after wowing audiences with her powerful vocals last year as the evil CARABOSSE.
Locals may also recognise Weymouth’s Own LEWIS ASQUITH, who plays the title role in this year’s festive production. TEGEN JONES will play the role of Dick’s funny faithful feline friend.
As always, the Weymouth Pantomime will boast stunning scenery, colourful costumes, toe-tapping songs and laughter in this traditional, yet innovative, brand new family pantomime.
On Thursday 20thDecember at 5pm there will be a “Relaxed” performance where some slight changeswill be made to the show all loud noises and strobe lighting will be omitted,the auditorium lights will be left on and audience members will be free to leave the theatre and spend some time in a quiet area set up in the foyer at any point during the performance. However, the fun, slapstick, comedy, music and laughter will stay exactly the same! For this special performance there will be more wheelchair spaces available in the auditorium.
For the first time there will also be an “Adults Only” performance on 2nd January at8pm. This special one-off performance will not be for the faint-hearted and promises to be a panto as you’ve never seen it before. The script will be adapted to crank-up the innuendo and new comedy routines and songs will be added to create a performance that’s sure to be hilarious, cheeky, saucy and sometimes just a little bit naughty!
